Thank you SOOO much....
best anwser get's my ufailing appreciation(: and best anwser plus ten points, Promise....
if that whole ten points thing really matters to you. lolHair crisis!!! Curling irons, straighting irons, hairspray OH MY!?
1)You always use heat protection serums BEFORE you use any kind of heat. Blow-dryers count by the way.
2)Flat irons and Straightener's are the same thing.
3)Conair is a good company, not too pricey and their available in wal-mart as well. Conair sells Curling Irons, and Flat irons. For curling irons, their are different inches. But if you have a bigger budget you can try using the company BabyLiss, or Chi their really good. The bigger the inch number is for curling irons the bigger the curls turn out. If you have a small-sized head you'd want a smaller barrel for the curls. You can also go to your hairdresser about things like these, or if you don't have one you can go to a hair salon and ask questions there as well.
4) Well, it depends on how well you curl your hair, and what kind of hairspray do you use. The company matter's as well. If you really want your curls to last, you can buy Tresemme 24 hour body hairspray.
Can I have best answer? :DHair crisis!!! Curling irons, straighting irons, hairspray OH MY!?

when i use the heat sprays before to protect my hair, serum is used after, there two different things, and i use Tresemme' hairspray, it lasts all day (practically speaking about 14 hours!:) It Is Used For Everything, curling, crimping, straightening :)
Hope I Helped :)
and any tips or advice would be appreciated...
flat iron(u could alsoo use it for curling and crimping/wavy and it would look more natural): i have the corioliss classic pro straightener and it works great! a lot of my friends have the Chi so i probably recommend that one too. i dont own a curlign iron sry.
heat protectent: ur suppose to use it before u use heat appliances on ur hair. thats the point of it! it would be useless if u applied it after.
hairspray: Big Sexy Hair or Got 2B volumionous spray. it would help to get ur curls in 1/2-2 days if u get the right one for ur hair.
tips: try to limit the number of time u use heat on ur hair. even with the heat protectent and other products, it will dry out ur hair and leave ur hair frizzy. that includes the hair dryer. it sucks all the moisture out of ur hair. also when curling the front chunks of hair, curl it away from ur face or else it will be in ur face (so annoying) and ur face will get more oily which causes acne. also dont ever curly or straighten ur hair if it has a lot of hair products in it especially hairs spray. ur curls would end up demented and wouldnt glide down smoothly. it would also wreck ur iron. if u want to curl ur hair with a flat iron, get a 1';. ps. that what i use.
products i use: got 2b smoothing lustre lotion (something like that), got 2b smoothign mousse, tressame heat protectent spray (amazing and it smells good), biosilk: silk therapy (good for the frizziness but only sold at salons and it smells OK), and got 2B voluminous hair spray.
For a straightening Iron I suggest a Chi but they are a little pricey so a good ceramic plated one (not ceramic coated) will work. Apply the serum before you straighten so it protects your hair since the irons get so hot.
Try to get a porcelain ceramic curling iron.
Your curls will last depending on your hair and the humidity and the products used. Try using mousse or gel when damp before your curl it.
For a really strong holding hair spray I like Spray Adhesive by Joico. It doesn't feel heavy on your hair but it will stand up to a lot of wind and keep your style a long time. Depending on the humidity in your area there are several good humidity resistant hair sprays out there also.
