I'm an African-American woman with naturally curly hair. It's texture is probably a 3c. For the past two years I've worn it curly and I've only flat ironed it 3 times. When it was flat ironed I wore it straight for about 3 weeks then returned to my naturally curly hair with no problem. But this time some sections refuse to curl back. I made sure not to make the flat iron too hot and used the same heat setting that I'd used in the past. Does anyone know any products I could use or have any suggestions on how to restore the curl pattern?I flat ironed my naturally curly hair and now some strands won't curl back. Does anyone have any suggestions?
This happens to me. I wear my hair naturally curly as well and straighten it maybe twice a month. When I wash it to return it back to its curly state, some areas of it remain straight.
Therefore I deep condition it for about an hour and it brings it back to life/
btw dont forget to always use a heat protectant before u straighten!I flat ironed my naturally curly hair and now some strands won't curl back. Does anyone have any suggestions?
i dont know
my guess would be to either wash your hair and if that doesnt work try a curl activator
Just curl it again OR wash your hair a lot.
Whenever you flat iron your hair, it should go back to whatever you had after you wash it.

It sounds like the sections of your hair that you have mention may be slightly damaged. I believe that if you use one of the following product lines, you would have those healthy curls that you wish to achieve again.
Product lines: Carol's Daughter, Kinky Curly, Miss Jessie's.
Websites: www.carolsdaughter.com, www.kinky-curly.com, www.missjessie.com.
wash your hair with your normal shampoo, then let the conditioner stay in for 10 to 15 minutes. You can also use Aussie Mousse+Leave in Conditioner(kangaroo stuff) after you wash out the conditioner, it doesnt make your hair hard like others. after that let it air dry! good luck
it's not going to go back curly sorry
my friend had that same prob and she had to cut it out
that's why i'll never flat iron my hair...lolz
